Following (recommended for January)

If we really want to learn and grow we need to be sure that we are following the right person. It takes work to build relationships, but when we follow Jesus we find connection and belonging that can’t be found anywhere else.

PRESSURE (RECOMMENDED FOR FEBRUARY)

As exciting as big wins and amazing accomplishments can be, all of those situations come with uncertainty and pressure. But when we say yes to challenges in any area of life and allow Jesus to lead us through them, we get the chance to experience his healing as he helps us to change and overcome.

THE PLAN (Recommended for March)

When we want to build or remodel something — whether it’s a house, a car, or a lego set — we don’t get very far without a plan. When God decided to create people there was a plan from the beginning to save us. When we trust God’s plan, even though we may not understand everything about it, we can be a part of his saving acts in the world.

Arise (Recommended for APRIL)

Jesus’ miracles were an amazing part of His ministry here on earth. The most amazing of all was a promise kept. The promise to overcome death and arise Christ’s resurrection strengthens us and changes our relationships in the best way.

Inheritance (Recommended for May)

As a part of the family of God, each one of us receives the gift of the holy spirit. This is an inheritance of faith for everyone who believes. With the spirit we are able to love and work for God together.

Be the Example (Recommended for June)

The Bible is full of examples of people who loved and followed God. We can learn from their lives — both their triumphs and their failures. As followers of God we are also examples. Our lives, with mistakes and successes, provide a pattern for others as they learn to follow Jesus.

UNEXPECTED (RECOMMENDED FOR JULY)

It can be hard when we feel like we are different from other people. When the ways that we think, act, or even look seems like it doesn’t fit with the ways that others do, it can be hard to believe that there is a place for us or that we matter. But when we actually look at the Biblical stories it becomes clear that God enjoys using unusual people for His purposes. We may not get everything right, but often times it is the things that make us different God is able to use for His glory. So go ahead, be different!

The Pledge (Recommended for August)

When we look at the world around us, sometimes it’s hard to believe that it was originally created to be perfect. No matter how messy things feel to you now, you can know that God has promised to return creation to the way he intended it to be. He will be faithful to keep his promise.

Rescue (Recommended for September)

Sometimes it can be hard to ask for help, even when we know that there is no way that we can navigate a problem by ourselves. The story of Israel in Egypt can help us to discover that we can trust God to give us the help we need. Just like he rescued Israel from slavery, he can deliver you from your problems.

Journey (Recommended for October)

The book of Exodus tells the story of the wandering journey the people of God made to the promised land. God didn’t leave them to travel this road alone, he was with them and provided a map of sorts (the ten commandments) to help them know how to behave along the way. The map of the ten commands is still helpful to us as we learn to better love God, our families, and the world.

BIG STORY (RECOMMENDED FOR NOVEMBER)

There is always something new going on in media. Before we understand one thing, we’re on to the next big story. It can be difficult with so much information around us to know what is true and what just catches our attention. God works differently. In the Old Testament He broke news to his people through His prophets. Their messages still help us understand that we have choices and can always worship a true God who can be counted on in an ever-changing world.Preschool Curriculum

Expectations (Recommended for DECEMBER)

Watching a movie or playing a game is great fun. Waiting to see what happens or who wins is a part of the fun, but it can be frustrating, too. In our lives sometimes it’s hard to wait, especially when we’re expecting something major to happen, whether it’s good or bad. Whatever happens, we can know that when we put our hope in Jesus we can expect amazing things to happen in our lives and hearts.
