May 17 is our next God’s Girls event, and this month’s focus is servitude! All God’s Girls are invited to Sabbath lunch in the Lower Fellowship Hall directly following the 11:30 service. After lunch we’ll have an afternoon filled with artful projects centered around servitude. Keep an eye out for flyers with more information.

Have your photo taken Sabbath, May 10, for the church pictorial directory! Whether it's for a first-time photo or an update, stop by between services to get your picture made. To get a directory, write your name, phone number, and "pictorial directory" on a pew card and drop it in the offering plate. As soon as copies are ready, you'll be able to pick yours up at the Welcome Center in the foyer. The cost of the directory is $4. You can place it in an offering envelope marked "pictorial directory."

The Thursday morning study group with Pastor Gayle will be taking a summer break starting this week. We’ll be resuming around the time school begins – so watch for information on the start date. Thanks for a great season!

Special thanks to all of the delegates who attended the constituency meeting last Monday evening. The second meeting will be held on Monday evening, May 12, on the Burton Academy campus. All delegates are urged to attend. Additional delegate slots are still available.

Plan now to come and enjoy the annual Burton Chorale Spring Concert next Saturday night, May 17, at 8:30 p.m. in the Hayes gymnasium. The performance will include musical selections from Phantom of the Opera, Dream Girls and Grease. This is great entertainment for the entire family.

We are looking for a loving, dedicated, energetic person to teach in the Mother’s Day Out program which will begin in September. Classes will be offered for 2 & 3 year olds, meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. here at the church. This is a paid position. To apply, call Kevin Wells or the church office.

Application forms for Burton Worthy Student Scholarships for 2008-2009 are now available. If you know of a student in need of financial assistance, you may pick up a form in the church office. Completed forms should be returned by May 31 so that the committee may consider all of the reports.

The Kindergarten A teachers, Josh & Mandy Samaniego and Ethan & Katie Gilliam, have done a fabulous job with our 4-year-old class. Now they are taking a break from Sabbath School to focus on their other ministries. A new 13-week session began recently and meets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Spirit Room. Anyone who is divorced or separated will find great support and excellent resources for dealing with difficult issues.
