We just got back from celebrating Dee’s HBD60 getaway on the Big Island of Hawaii. While we were there we spent a lot of time in the ocean, but also made a trek to see an active volcano.
As we stood on the edge of the crater, it was pretty incredible to see the amount of destruction an erupting volcano can create. There was a clear perimeter paved by the lava flows as molten rock killed all in its path. The steam vents during the day and orange glow that evening made it clear that the volcano was alive and capable.
Something else caught our attention as we walked the national park. The steam from the volcanic vents as well as some Hawaiian showers mixed with the sunshine to literally pour a rainbow into the crater bed. This moment and so many more during our stay reminded Dee and me of GOD’s grace-filled presence in our lives. Jesus assured us:
“You can be sure that I will be with you always.” —Matthew 28:20b [ERV]
The volcano and the rainbow were a great reminder that, even when things get rocky, hectic, even hot, GOD is always with us. May the GOD of love and light remind you today that even in turbulent times, He is with us always; Providing peace, promises, and His actual presence. —Pastor Allan
