YG Mission Values

To help us be mission-driven at Younger Generation Church, we felt it helpful to describe further as to how we intend to fulfill our mission. Beyond a mission elaboration on intimacy, community, and grace, we've articulated mission values

  1. Mentoring
  2. Training
  3. Leading
  4. Worshiping
  5. Teaching
  6. Connecting
  7. Caring
  8. Participating
  9. Serving
  10. Reconciling

Find below, our ten values integrated into our definition of who we are, our mission, and vision.

Who we are:
Younger Generation Church [YG]
is the vibrant young adult ministry of the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Mentoring – YG cares about personally accompanying next generations in their spiritual journey, fostering discipleship where every member is a mentor.
  • Training – YG provides training opportunities where we develop each skill and gift, learning to use every ability to fulfill mission.
  • Leading – YG is strategically vision-inspired and mission-driven; Cultivating the leadership of next generations for intentional involvement today.
Our mission is to deepen our devotion to Jesus Christ by:
  • Pursuing Intimacy with GOD…
  • Experiencing Community with each other…
  • Inspiring those around us with the Hope of Grace
INTIMACY: We are wholeheartedly pursuing a 24/7 experience with the living GOD.
Our worship is for His fame.
  • Worshipping – YG understands worship as the daily practice of making the Gospel reality. We search for creative opportunities to celebrate worship in everyday life and are committed to making the Sabbath a meaningful experience.
  • Teaching – YG teaches the Word of GOD, communicating in a relevant, creative and practical way.
COMMUNITY: We express best who GOD is by doing life together well.
Our relationships express His love.
  • Connecting – YG strives to form authentic and loving relationships across generational, cultural, and social boundaries.
  • Caring – YG fosters a loving attitude that reaches out to others with empathy and accepts them the way they are. We actively serve their good and support them in all areas of life.
  • Participating – YG encourages participation that values each person’s gifts and skills; We create room for participation in all aspects of church life. This fosters our sense of belonging and identity as YG.
GRACE: We are compelled to share the hope we have with others.
Our compassionate witness reveals His Good News as real.
  • Serving – YG follows the example of Jesus by ministering to the needs of others and seeking to discover new ways to serve.
  • Reconciling – YG actively fosters reconciliation and healing in the name of Jesus, reconciling us to our heavenly Father and to each other.
In this new decade of Younger Generation Church, we aspire to overflow Jesus Christ beyond our four walls—blessing our community, transforming our world.

YG University [YGU] is our endeavor to be a life-long learning community of disciples, seeking to deepen the Christ-centered devotion of next generations, beyond the contours of Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church.

YGU aspires to be of benefit to the larger sphere of young adult ministry development across the Adventist landscape. We pray to be a blessing to many others and we are excited for the learning opportunities it will offer us as well.
